Happy Holidays!

Welcome to the first edition of Welcome Stitchery's quarterly newsletter. Welcome Stitchery is a needlework shop in downtown Blue Earth, Minnesota. Owner Justine Hougan purchased the shop, previously in Crystal Lake, Illinois, in 2021 and moved it west about six hours. Since opening the shop, Justine has continued to introduce shoppers to new designs in cross-stitch, embroidery, hardanger, needlepoint and punch needle.

Shoppers can not only enjoy the many offerings at Welcome Stitchery, but enjoy all that Blue Earth has to offer in the world of needlearts with shops including BS Studio, a specialty yarn shop, and Michele's Quilting & Sewing, both within a block of Welcome Stitchery.

What's New in the Shop

* Introducing our 2023 Happy Holidays ornament designed by Summer House Stitche Workes; and our Hardanger Christmas Ornament exclusive by J.Designs LLC. Pick up your copy today at Welcome Stitchery or order online at welcomestitchery.com.

* Lucy Beam Trunk Show is open through the end of December. Welcome Stitchery was lucky enough to have Becky here for a two-day class in early November. Kits from the class (Egg Pocket Stitching Kit, Egg Pocket Class Kit and Eyelet Sampler Needle Roll kit) are still available for purchase, along with a wide selection of her patterns.

* We've grown! Welcome Stitchery expanded across the hall at its Main Street location on Nov. 1, and now offers tables and seating for stitchers to come in and spend an hour or a day stitching while surrounded by all kinds of stitchy goodness. Please come with your latest project and enjoy some quiet time with a view of Main Street, or bring your friends and make a fun day of stitching, shopping and dining together.

.* We continue to add more of our products to our website daily. Most recently, Justine acquired the inventories and rights to sell hardanger designs and supplies from Hanky Panky Designs & Crafts, as well as an array of hardanger and cross-stitch patterns by J Designs LLC and Designs by Julie.
 

Upcoming Events

* Feb. 9-11: Welcome Weekend. Come and stitch at the shop from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

* Feb. 10-11: Super Bowl Sale. Saturday hours are 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* March 1-3: Nashville Needlework Market. Store will be open regular hours.

* March 8-9: Primitive Hare classes. Sign-ups will be offered soon.

* June 28-29: Mary McGuire needlepoint classes from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. each day. Autumn Barn Quilts by Nancy's Needle on June 28; Christmas Barn Quilts by Nancy's Needle on June 29. You may sign up for one or both classes.
