We have tried to make web shopping with us as easy as possible with the use of our Online Catalog & Shopping Cart. Our Online Catalog is arranged similar to our shop. In general, Patterns/Books are arranged by subject. Use our "Keyword" search feature as your personal sales associate to locate your desired item by entering item name, title, designer or subject. Enjoy roaming our pages.
To browse our Online Catalog click on the Our Catalog button and scroll down and select a category button of interest; then scroll down and select a subcategory button of interest; or perform a search with a "Keyword" by entering in a item name, designer's name, book/pattern title or subject to arrive at listing of Item Search Results. Click on the Item Name to get more detailed information and a picture of the item.
Select the item you want by clicking on the Add To Cart button
on the Item Search Results page or by clicking on the Add To
Cart button on the Detailed Item Information page. Indicate
the quantity of the item you want on Shopping Cart Screen and then
click on Continue Shopping or I Am Ready to Checkout Now
buttons. When you are ready to checkout, if you are not already
in your shopping cart, click on My Cart button. At this point
you can still add, change, or delete items or empty your shopping
cart. Then click I Am Ready to Checkout Now button. You will
then be directed to a secure Shipping Information page to input
your name, shipping address, email address and phone number. After
inputting the requested shipping information click on the Next
Step button where you will be directed to a Billing Information
page to input your name, billing address, email address and phone
number. After inputting the requested billing information click
on the Review Order button where you will be directed
to a secure Payment Information page to input your credit card information.
This page displays itemized list of your selections, shipping charges,
sales tax (when applicable) and total for the order. Click on the
I Approved This Order button. Your credit card
information is kept secure by encryption software. You may print
out a receipt by clicking on the click here area.
Your on-line order will be confirmed by e-mail and you
may check it's status by following the directions given in that
Orders by Fax
Use the shopping cart feature as you would for online ordering. Click on the I Am Ready to Checkout Now button and fill out the Shipping Information page "as though" you were going to place the order online but do not include your credit card information. Then simply PRINT out this form with your browser and close the shopping cart without completing your online order. Then .... write in your name and credit card information and Fax the form to us (815-455-4885).
Orders by Mail
Follow the same procedure shown in Orders by Fax, then mail the form to us with either credit card information, a personal or cashiers check or money order enclosed. Our address is located on our Home page. All orders paid by personal checks will be held for 21 days, to allow personal checks to clear the banks. Orders paid by credit card or money order are not held.
Phone orders are always welcome, but it is usually faster to place your order online. Our phone hours are the same as our full service retail store: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday - 9:30am-4:00pm, Thursday - 9:30am-8:00pm and Saturday 9:30am-3:00pm. If you do not find a particular item you want shown in our catalog, please feel free to contact us as it may be an item that we inventory but have not yet added to our online catalog or we will be glad to Special Order it for you.
Some items shown in our Sale Basket may be limited to quantity in our stock.
Most orders are shipped within 48 hours. Occasionally, if an item is out of stock, we will hold the order for 10 days, to enable us to ship your order complete. If after 10 days, an item is still not in, we will notify you by email to determine if you want to cancel the order. Domestic orders are shipped via US Mail or United Parcel Service depending on package size and weight. Shipping charges shown on shopping cart order form are for domestic shipments only. Orders from our fellow stitchers outside the United States are always welcomed. International orders are charged a $3.00 handling fee plus the actual shipping cost to their country via US Mail - Airmail Letter Post unless requested otherwise.
We accept Master Card, Visa, and Discover credit cards.
No books, leaflets, charts, chart packs, floss, fibers, or opened kits can be returned. We reserve the right to refuse delivery of any returned goods that have not been authorized by Welcome Stitchery. If an item must be returned, we charge a 15% restocking charge to the amount of the goods, and return freight will not be reimbursed. Returned merchandise, must be packed to insure it arrives back to us in resalable condition. Returned items not in a resalable condition, will not be eligible for replacement, an exchange, a credit or a refund. Return problems need to be called in within 7 days of receipt of purchase. If the mistake was ours, we will refund the postage if returned by the cheapest method. If you changed your mind or ordered the wrong item, the responsibility for the return postage is yours.
Damaged goods must be reported to us within 24 hours of receipt. No returns for credit or replacement will be accepted without prior authorization from Welcome Stitchery. Please be sure to include your phone number, the best time to call, & the problem with the order. If returns are not in a resalable condition, the item will be subject to a 15% restocking fee.
Privacy & Security
Your privacy is extremely important to us. That's why we refuse to sell your names, address or email address to anyone who requests it. Nor is it available for viewing on our site. Any information you give to us is used only by Welcome Stitchery, and is not seen by anyone outside of our shop. In addition, if you subscribe to our newsletters, your email address is hidden in the BCC: field to keep others from grabbing it. We do not want you to receive any junk mail as a result of being a subscriber to our newsletter.
Our site uses a Secure Server. The Secure Server software encrypts all your confidential credit card information so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet.
